Indian Administrative Service (IAS)
The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) was formed in the year of 1946. It is one of the three All India Services.(The other two are Indian Forest Services and Indian Police Services). The cadre controlling authority for IAS is Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Department of Personnel & Training.
- Cadre size: 5159 posts (direct recruitment – 66.67%, promotion 33.33%).
- The selected candidates' training ground is at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.
Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS)
The Combined Competitive Examination, or the Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) Exam in common parlence, is the state level Civil Services exam conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Commission (JKPSC) for direct recruitment to
a. Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service.
b. J&K Police (Gazetted) Service.
c. J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service.
The Examination consists of three successive stages:
a. Combined Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
b. Combined Services Mains Examination (Written)
JEE-Joint Entrance Examination
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering courses like B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch and B.Planning under the direction of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
Pursuant to the Notification published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 21st December, 2010, the Medical Council of India with the approval of the Central Government amended the regulations on Graduate Medical Education 1997 and made provision for a Single Eligibility cum Entrance Examination, namely, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS Course in each academic year.
The Dental Council of India also amended the BDS Course Regulations 2007 and notified in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 31st May, 2012 that admission to BDS Course in each academic year shall be through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET).
The Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India have notified that the Central Board of Secondary Education shall be the organization to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses.
Accordingly, the Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in the academic session 2013-14 on Sunday, the 5th May 2013.
The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing merit list to the Counselling Authorities.
