KUs CCPC holds online career counselling cum placement guidance session for management students of North, South and Main campus

On the instructions of its Vice-Chancellor, an online career counselling cum placement guidance session was organized by the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling of the University of Kashmir on Wednesday. Ms. Deepika Unni, a renowned career counsellor and founder of "Ways to Success" organization, Mumbai guided the pre-final and final semester management students belonging to main and satellite campuses of the University about various career opportunities for them and how to prepare themselves to face the corporate interviews. In her detailed presentation she discussed various stages of campus placements, soft skills required for the same and offered them guidance for CV writing, dressing up and preparing for the interviews. Ms. Unni has nearly 30 years of Corporate experience and has worked both in India, Dubai and Germany in sales and marketing, corporate communications, public relations, events and CSR departments. She has worked with companies like Amazon, JioSaavan, Viacom18, Airtel, Infosys, Accenture, UPL, Bayer, Welspun, Zee, Pepe Jeans etc for campus placements. The session was very well received by the students and found to be highly informative, interesting and interactive. Speaking at this occasion, Director, CCPC, Prof. Geer M. Ishaq underscored the need to conduct more such sessions for students belonging to all other departments of the University with a view to prepare them to face the challenges of dynamic job markets and the corporate world. "Idea is to build up work, life, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills of the students and enable them to succeed in campus recruitment drives", he said and expressed the need for greater collaboration between various satellite campuses of the University for such activities. Online session was coordinated by Dr. Umar Farooq and Dr. Maleeha Gul from North Campus, Baramulla, Dr. Irfana Baba and Dr. Ashiq from South campus, Anantnag and Dr. Mohammad Ayub from Management Studies department of the main campus of the University. Career and placement guidance at advanced level shall be offered by the expert speaker on one-to-one basis depending upon the interest shown by the students to continue with the same.
